Microsoft just released a new Power Automate template that can help welcome new Team members and notify existing members when someone leaves a Team.
At first it may seem redundant as Teams already provides built-in functionality to notify users of such changes.
But there are two main differences:
- The built-in notifications only appear in the General channel
- You cannot modify the format of these notifications
With the new Post message to Teams when users are added or removed from Office 365 Group template, you can design your own adaptive card and share a variety of information for the new user. The trigger is actually on the Office 365 Group that is connected to the Team, not the Team itself. The message appearing when someone joins or leaves can be different.
Yet another way to improve the overall experience for your Teams users.
